Always On is a small, native menu bar utility for macOS. It holds your Mac awake for a set time, until a clock time, while a chosen app is running, or automatically during video calls, presentations and screen recordings — then gets out of the way.
However long you need
30 minutes to 8 hours, a custom length, until a clock time, or simply until you turn it off.
Knows when to step in
Activates automatically for video calls, presentations, recordings, an external display, or a calendar event.
Looks after you too
Optional eye-break, posture and hydration reminders, a session health score, and a gentle late-night nudge.
Battery aware
Shortens its intervals on battery power and stops automatically if the charge runs critically low.
Completely private
No network access at all. No accounts, no analytics, nothing leaves your Mac. Ever.
Native throughout
Siri and Shortcuts support, full keyboard control, VoiceOver labels, and a universal binary.
Requirements
Always On 1.2.0 requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later. On macOS 13 (Ventura) the App Store will keep you on version 1.1.0, which continues to work as before.
